Samsung is the leader in electric appliances if I am not mistaken. It has been leading the way with its price: features ratio for a long time now. It is now more than ever by presenting a 4K Ultra HD TV under $500. Edge lit LED backlit LCDs are not the most sound technology (even in 4K it is true), however Samsung’s addition semi clear coat screen is a blessing to it. The color information and image quality is good. Over the course of using you will see some light bleed on the darker sceneries. The scaling system is not what you get in more high end products but does a reasonably good job for the price point. LED backlight is one of the standout features of the product. But there have been some uniformity issues with the screen but there are settings to control them. The side angle viewing experience is not that great and tends to fade away when going of the center. However the color accuracy of the TV is remarkable when compared to some of the competitor versions due to the Samsung’s new Purecolor. The refresh rate is 60 Hz and you may see some smudging in fast sceneries. The quad core processor greatly increases the speed of the TV. User interface is good and has smart hub. There are individual logins which means there are different settings for different family members and are really useful in multi individual use. It does not have a design which will make you fall of your seat but it looks good enough. Sound quality is medium and the smart remote with a touchpad. It lacks 3D and 120 Hz panel which is present in many high end 4K ultra HD TVs.

TCL is brand which a lot of North Americans are less familiar of. They claim to be the worlds, third largest TV manufacturer. When looking at the TV the first thing to notice is the picture quality. The TCL brand is not the standout in the picture quality and may sometimes black levels may turn bluish black. There is no refresh rate smoothing on this TV. So you will find jerky motion. Although TCL claims the panel to be having a refresh rate of 120 Hz it is really only 60 Hz. The backlit lighting systems is not full array direct lit backlighting but is rather full array direct lit LED to LCD which is used to produce cheap 32 inch TVs. You will see some clouding along the edges. Brightness produced by the TV is satisfying. The picture settings is not a very complicated one with many features but is rather a five preset modes. The picture quality is satisfying when compared to the price. When it comes to gaming this might not be what you are looking for since the input lag is higher in this. But when you switch on gaming mode the brightness will increase. When talking about smart TV platform Roku is an excellent platform. After initial setup you will find big boxes with easy navigation on apps. Roku’s search function is also one of the best. Remote control is functioning well enough and is fast. It is manufactured by Roku. The dual band Wi-Fi is doing a good job so no blames on it. However the audio quality is not that great and with added too much of bass. Appearance and design will not blow you off but is not that bad either. The TCL brand is not that popular since it is kind of new to North America but it is doing well in the Asia

LG is one of the main leading brands in the production of electrical appliances let alone Televisions. Standing up to its motto LIFE’S GOOD, the company has gained vast recognition for the quality products they manufacture. The LG Electronics 24LH4530 24-Inch 720p LED TV, seeks to enhance and advance the watching experiences of the purchasers. Given that the TV size is small the Television is small (24 inches), which is kind of made for singular person entertainment and is also useful as laptop monitors or desktop monitors. These TVs give a decent enough smart TV options as well as good picture mode settings. The ADS panel is excellent and has a good contrast ratio than IPS (IN-PLANE-SWITCHING). LG lists the response time as 8m seconds which is really exceptional and fast. The triple XD engine of engine is renowned and is highlighted in the product and is doing a great job in smoothing out the motion. But when it comes to picture quality this is where it stops actually. But it does not mean that you will be disappointed from the purchase. It has accurate and true color than most TVs in the price range. The black levels are not that worth mentioning and are not great from side angles. Due to the ADS panel the color saturation is great than most TVs. The Design and the appearance of the TV is not that great with a blocky appearance and a fairly thick frame. The appearance is more likely to a monitor than that of a TV, but it consumes little space so is ideal for your bedroom. The sound quality is fairly good to and can be enhanced with the use of a sound bar or speakers.

LG LH550B Review
What can you expect in this price range

Manufacturers of mid-range TV s include worlds’ leading brands like Samsung, LG, and Sony etc. And it is also mentioning the brand Vizio which suggests by the 2016 findings that you will get more features for your money. TCL is a Chinese but good market brand in 2016. High end TVs have a larger screen and more smart features than what you get in a mid-range TV. The maximum screen size you can find for under $500 is 55 inches and for that you will be sacrificing many smart features. Common smart features included on these products include streaming of audio and video via Wi-Fi, through Netflix or similar app. Although the picture quality of mid-range TVs are better than ever you will sometimes find black and gray areas on the screen and also the screen edges to be little smudged. Even though the picture qualities of best mid-range products are good, it is simply not the quality which you will find on the High end stuff. The budget TVs will have about 2 HDMI ports while high ends will have 3-4 Ports. The sound quality is good but don’t be expecting miracles. A good sound bar will do well for this issue. Color accuracy is point where most of the even high end products struggle to keep up. So it is not worth talking about it in the budget TVs. Typical refresh rate of a the entry level screen is 60 Hz, but you will find 120 Hz models which are not really 120Hz but have used some trickery to obtain the desired effect. So let us take a look at some of the models in the entry level.
